avenue, a 29-year-old man was shot several times, and died. quite a pile-up of cars at the intersection of south kate and frederick avenue before 3:00 a.m. a police car was stopped at a light, when two other cars came barreling down the road, hitting one another. five people, including an officer in the patrol car had to be to the hospital. they are nursing various injuries. friday, gas was $3.49, today, $3.47. why? sandy cut into demand, and crude oil pricing are going down. memphis has the cheapest gas in the country, san francisco the highest. but did you sigh what gas was selling for in new jersey? up to $6 a gallon. is that crazy? expert say we can expect a $.20 drop here in the coming weeks. and speaking of driving, it was the first drive and the game winning drive in the fourth that did if for the ravens, the ravens beat cleveland 25-15. coach harbaugh called it a fight. earlier, he called this a must-win.

the ravens come home to play oakland on sunday after beating cleveland in cleveland today, but we have a high school football hero tonight, who ran out of bounds instead of scoring easily and untouched. what you're about to see from abc2 news is a story that will touch you. >> reporter: sinclair's high school junior is used to making big plays on the football field.

the 17-year-old running back has committed to play football for the university of michigan, after his team wrapped up an undefeated season this year. all the while, maintaining a 4.0gpa. but it was this play in an early october game when he stepped out of bounds just one yard shy of a touchdown that has many calling him a hero. >> being able to make what happened happen, you know, was more important than some record book. >> reporter: sinclair coach planned for him to run out of bound, and the big score could go to this young man, freshman logan thompson, whose father died two days earlier after suching suffering a stroke. >> he made me forget the bad things ever. >> reporter: he insisted despite his father's death, to suit up for the game, so ferns and the teammate conspired to give the

city limits. out to fred really, carroll county. so tender vegetations if you have it out, wrap it up or bring it indoors, this will be a killing freeze. 43 degrees, down into the 30s at midnight, it's a brisk chilly wake up. up to 45 degrees for your afternoon, and we'll max out to 50 for the daytime high. radar is clear, that's going to remain the case in the next couple of days, it's about the chill, erie at 3, 39 in detroit, ray set at 45, so we will trade in some 30s going into the next couple of hours, certainly going to be a chilly night tonight. clouds, a thin veil of cloud now. but out to the west, area of low pressure, this is a weak area of low pressure right now, this slide to the west, and will pick up a lot of gulf moisture, way will happen, a lot of energy

over the southern jetstream comes into this, and that's going to develop a big storm system, somewhere after the north carolina coastline tuesday night, and wednesday just off our shoreline. it's a gusty wind for wednesday, we do know that, and the rain is going to start up. 2-4 inches by thursday morning. here's what's interesting though. if enough cold air wraps into the storm, we could change over to snow late wednesday, going into thursday morning. but it looks like it could be an accumulating snow from frederick county on to the north and west. i can't believe i'm saying this. we will fine tune this forecast closer to wednesday. for future temperatures, 30s going into the 20s tonight, and upper 40s by your day tomorrow. look how chilly for tomorrow night. upper 20s to around 30 in town, and we're going into the low to middle 40s for tuesday. certainly going to be chilly, mary beth. 33 in town, partly cloudy, freeze warnings note -- north of

>> welcome. semi colon club, tell me your story, you are a two-time survivor of colon cancer, remarkable. >> the story goes goes back when i was younger, i was growing up through my teens, i had in napster bowel disease, kept on top of for a lot of years, inflammatory bowel disease, kept on top of it for years, and not it cured its self. then 9 years ago, diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, had surgery. and that's kind of how i came out with the semicolon club. so because it had gotten to the point where it entered into

lymph nodes, i had a recurrence, it will be almost six years ago. stage 4, and the statistics for stage 4 really is that two and a half out of ten people survive, so i'm fortunate to be here. >> this is very preventable. tell me what people can do. are there symptoms? >> there's a couple things i talk to people b first and for most, know yourself and be your own advocate. if you see something going on that's different in your habits, you're sitting around the kitchen table, you're 23409 going to talk about it, do something. see a doctor, get yourself checked, see if that's something going on. communicate with your family. find out your family history. in the old, old days, lot of times families didn't pass on to generations things going on. and -- >> something they don't want to discuss? >> they don't want to discuss, but if you find out you are a

family history, you have a higher risk, colon cancer is a hereditary thing, and third i think is important, is like i said, as you reach a certain age, 50 is kind of benchmark they talk about, get your checkup colonist pope, there are a lot of things that lead to cancer, like heavy drinking of alcohol, now smoking cigarettes can lead to colon cancer. obesity, not watching your weight, exercise, things like that. >> lot of common sense things, taking good care of yourself, knowing your body. if something is wrong, doing something about it and the most important way to prevent colon cancer, regular screening, i talk to people that have the colon cancer, in various stages and i talk, in most cases, i

find it's a lack of knowledge, or they just didn't want to have to deal with what was going on with them. they thought it would get better, and unfortunately, those things do not normally get better. they progress and get worse. >> tell me about your semicolon club. what is it the mission? >> its mission is to get the word out about colon cancer. that is beat able, treatable, and the things i just talked about from communicating, being aware, being an advocate, getting tested when it's the proper time. that's our mission. i want to touch people every day. it's not so much about research, or fund raising for a lot of money. >> i know you do have an event the fourth annual semicolon. >> we have a walk, and it's a fund-raiser, and i'm trying to get a crowd to get the word out, to pass along the information.
